This instability has led the VMIA to adopt far stricter measures, including a 43 per cent increase in premiums for all new domestic building insurance policies introduced in July 2024, alongside significantly tighter scrutiny of which builders they are willing to support. Many builders have struggled to meet these strengthened requirements but Omnia Homes has not only met them, we have exceeded them.
After a comprehensive and rigorous review of our financials, operating practices and build quality, the VMIA elected to increase our insurance coverage by 60%. This decision is a strong endorsement of our financial strength, responsible management and proven track record of delivering quality homes.
